Today should be a fun day in Oakland. The wind is blowing out at about 10MPH to right center. Former Oakland Athletic Chris Bassitt takes the helm for the Blue Jays hoping to avenge those horrible years where the As were a last place team. Too bad that Chris Bassitt doesn’t realize that he was most likely part of the problem. This year, Bassitt has a rough 4.13 ERA and a 4.31 xERA for Toronto. His strikeout percentage is only 21.9%. For the As, lefty Hogan Harris takes the start and he is doing pretty well thus far after 245 total pitches. Harris boasts a 3.14 ERA and a 3.81 xERA. His K percentage is a nice 24.6%. As far as batting goes, I give the nod to Toronto as they rank 17th i wRC+ to Oakland at 21st, but the Bullpen screams the As as Toronoto ranks dead last in FIP for relief pitching. I think that this number is wrong on this game and I will take the As for + money.
