π§ Matchup Insights
-
Texans Offense: Stroud is efficient but not explosive. RB Woody Marks and WR Nico Collins are emerging threats.
-
Ravens Offense: With Jackson sidelined, expect a run-heavy scheme featuring Henry and Justice Hill.
-
Defensive Edge: Houston has the healthier unit, while Baltimoreβs secondary and front seven are depleted.
Let’s go to a game with a line that hasn’t adjusted quite enough. I really think that the Thursday Night football game helped keep this line low enough to bet for Houston.Β First of all, comparing the 49ers injuries to the Ravens is not correct at all.Β The Rams outplayed the niners, but they were out-coached.Β The step down from Brock Purdy to Mac Jones is very slight, while going from Lamar Jackson to Cooper Rush is massive.Β Lamar Jackson to the Ravens is worth at least 8 points.Β The look ahead line was Ravens -7.5, but we can’t forget that their best defensive player in Roquan Smith along with a cluster of injuries must factor in more.Β Β
Β
Another big issue that I have with this number is that even if all of these guys were healthy, this Ravens team only ranks 6th this year in offensive EPA and a pathetic 29th on defense.Β The Ravens are opposite ranking 26th in EPA on offense yet a strong 6th on defense.Β Both teams need a win bad, but one team is a lot more healthier, and that is the Texans.Β I will lay it with Houston.
Texans -1.5 – 2 stars Β
