Did not get the win last week with William Byron over Ross Chastain as Byron had a questionable pit stop towards the end of the race that didn’t get that bet home, but that’s gambling and all we can do now is look forward on getting a winner this Sunday at Richmond Raceway. This will be the second time this year that the cup series is running at Richmond and back on April 2nd this year Brad Keselowski took a 10th place finish and Tyler Reddick finished 16th. Keselowski has owned Reddick at Richmond by beating him 5 of the last 6 races here. The last 6 races at Richmond Keselowski has an average finish of 11th and Reddick with a 17.5. A good comp to Richmond would be New Hampshire Motor Speedway where Reddick has not beaten Keselowski heads up here at this track since he entered the cup series back in 2020. Keselowski has been in better form as he has had a better finishing position than Reddick in 7 of the last 10 races, take Brad Keselowski over Tyler Reddick this Sunday at Richmond Raceway.

Gonna be a fun one in St Louis today where the Cubs are now just one game below .500 and the Cardinals pretty much sellers at this point. Justin Steele takes the mound for the Cubbies boasting a 2.95 ERA and a 2.97 FIP. I’d say that he is their ace right now with Strohman blowing up as of late. Mike Mikolas takes the help for the Cards with a 4.33 ERA and a 3.89 FIP. I’d say this is a sizeable difference. Hitting is a push between these two teams, but over the last two weeks, the Cubbies are number 1 in wRC+ at 137. I think that the Cubs get to .500 today.

It looks like we’re officially on a heater! Akshay Bhatia (40-1) captured the Barbasol Championship giving us our second outright in the past two weeks.
Let’s get into this week’s storylines…
Tony Finau looks to defend his title at the 3M Open. He’s already won twice on Tour this season. If he’s able to capture a third victory this season it would be the first time that he’s accomplished that feat in his career.
Justin Thomas finds himself on the outside of the FedEx Cup Playoffs with just two events to go. He’s played in the Tour Championship seven times before, winning in 2017. This is the first year that just 70 players qualify for the PGA TOUR’s postseason. Thomas is 75th in the FedExCup after a difficult season.
The 3M Open debuted on the PGA Tour in 2019. Before that, TPC Twin Cities hosted the 3M Championship which was a Champions tour event from 1993-2018. The 3M Open is the PGA TOUR’s first regular stop in Minnesota in five decades. As one of the newer tournaments on the tour, they’ve taken a great approach to trying to grow the event and game. On hole 17, they added sky boxes to try to mimic the famed rowdy par-3 16th hole at the Waste Management Open.
The course was originally a sod farm that was transformed into a championship golf course by Arnold Palmer Design Co with consultation from Minnesota native, Tom Lehman. Before the inaugural tournament in 2019, the course underwent a renovation. During that renovation, they lengthened the course, narrowed fairway lines, repositioned tees and bunkers, and added more space for grandstands and spectators.

Donkeys for Courses:
“Horses for Courses” is a phrase that is widely used and describes the best course/tournament fits. These are the players that have had success at the particular course/event. “Donkeys for Courses” is something I came up with that highlights the players who have struggled at a specific course/tournament.

This should be a good main event in London where Tom Aspinall is coming back almost exactly one year later after his early first round knee injury vs Curtis Blaydes. If you remember, Aspinall was favored in this fight and was a very big heavyweight contender at the time. His early finishes of Volkov and Spivak have earned him a big favorite here of over 80% probability. Tom’s opponent Marcin Tybura isn’t no slouch. Marcin is durable and has beaten good contenders like Alexander Romanov and Blagoy Ivanov. He lost to Alexander Volkov by decision. Let’s look at how this fight will go down. Marcin Tybura is more of a stand-up fighter who also has skills on the ground if needed. His takedown defense is at a huge 79%. Aspinall is good both on his feet and on the ground, but I am not so sure that he will be able to take the big polar bear down so quickly. I also think that it would not be smart of Aspinall to go directly at Tybura the very next fight after his big knee injury. Tybura himself will want this fight to last as long as possible to try and wear down the more aggressive Aspinal. I think this fight is most likley won by Tom being that he is the younger and the more skilled fighter, but I also think that this fight gets past the 1st round. Take the round prop at a good price.
Nascar H2H Matchup William Byron Over Ross Chastain -112 @Fanduel Sportsbook
Risk 4.5 To Win 4 Units
Coming off a winner last week with Brad Keselowski over Bubba Wallace at New Hampshire, now we turn are focus to Pocono this Sunday for another winner. Both William Byron and Ross Chastain entered the Nascar Cup Series in 2018 and since then William Byron has had a better finishing position then Ross Chastain at Pocono. Byron has an average finish of 9.4 at Pocono and Chastain has a lousy average finish of 29.7 since 2018. A similar track to Pocono would be Michigan Speedway where Byron has an average finish of 14.3 and Chastain is 29.8. Byron also has been better in current form as he has had a better finishing position then Chastain 6 out of the last 9 races, take William Byron over Ross Chastain this Sunday at Pocono.
