February 13th CBB Premium Play

*CBB(1u): UCONN/St John’s OVER 150.5(-110)–11 AM CT

St John’s runs at the 3rd fastest pace in the country; while the Red Storm aren’t always efficient offensively, they score over 79 points/game off of their shear tempo. UCONN is playing its second straight road game after coming off of a tough loss at Xavier on Friday night. This is somewhat of a sleepy spot for the Huskies, and I think where they could start to slip and lose focus is on the defensive end of the floor. St John’s just played a tight game with Villanova, and while UCONN is solid defensively, they are a clear step down from the Wildcats’ defensive efficiency. With all this said, I expect UCONN to find plenty of success on the offensive end of the floor given that they rank 24th in offensive efficiency and the Johnnies rank outside of the Top 100 in defensive efficiency. This total is not quite high enough when you factor in St John’s’ style of play as well as the spot for UCONN. I’ll play the Over in this one.

Premiums for Super Bowl Sunday

Said I wouldn’t send you all an email today but hey, it’s hard getting out of routines. And the routines are a big part of the reason we win.

I would definitely lean to the over on the MIN/IND game today, but Indiana’s offense is extremely volatile. I wouldn’t put many units on that. Also lean Hawks at +6.5, their offense is considerably more potent than Boston’s, but lately the Celtics have looked REALLY good. Tough game.
All Super Bowl for me, today. Enjoy your family and enjoy the big game!
SB Picks:
  • 1Q under 9.5 **
  • 1H under 23.5 *
  • Odell over 5.5 catches (+110) ** (this is great value)

  • Bengals 3rd QTR ML (+100) **
  • Parlay: Rams ML + under 48.5 ** (2 units to win 3.88 units)

NFL Super Bowl 56 Prop Plays – Sports Betting

The Super Bowl is here and the prop market is booming.   I have made some prop plays for the podcasts and members over the last 2 weeks, but I also wanted to give some out here for free.   There are many reasons for these props, and even though I name just a few, I go into more detail on the podcasts.  If you would like to know more and get a few more plays, please listen to our podcast episode 11 or check out our Prop-cast at @SportsWagerU.   Note that some lines have moved, and if it isn’t within 10 cents, take it at your own risk.  Make sure that you shop around.  Here is what we got cooking.  Good Luck Everyone!

Joe Burrow over 10.5 yards rushing -125 – 1.5 star – Huge games mean desperate situations.

Matt Stafford over 5.5 yards rushing -110 – 1 star – Huge games mean desperate situations.

First touchdown scorer – LA Rams defense +2800 – .5 star (long shot but what the hell) – That D is fierce and I can see some mistakes from young burrow.

Super Bowl MVP Props:  Von Miller +5000 – .5 stars (long shot with value) – History tends to repeat itself and he will get more shots at the QB than Donald who is at a terrible price.

Super Bowl LVI – First Score Method Vs Super Bowl LVI – First Score Method Field Goal +150 – 1.5 stars – Things will tighten up in the Red Zone.  This prop has been good to me.

Tee Higgens over 5.5 receptions -105 – 1.5 stars – Jalen Ramsey on Jamar Chase.   Uzomah injury.   ‘Nuff said.

Joe Mixon over 25.5 receiving yards – 1 star – He does this all the time.  Rams susceptible to the screen.

Total rushing yards under 197.5 -115 – 2 stars – I see a potential that running the ball doesn’t work well against both Ds.  If a team is down a lot, it will be pass pass pass.

Team to gain most rushing yards Rams -120 – 1 star – Spread says so.

Halftime – Will Snoop Dogg Be Wearing Any Rams Clothing No +250 – .5 star (or what you can get down) – Found this on MyBookie.   I doubt Snoop wears Rams Clothing in this big of a game.

2022 Super Bowl-Gatorade Bath Before Final Whistle Vs 2022 Super Bowl-Gatorade Bath Before Final Whistle Yes – Gatorade Before Final Whistle -160 – .5 star (or what you can get down) – Spread says that Rams will take a knee.

*CBB(1u): North Carolina State ML(-125) @ Pittsburgh–2 PM CT

These are two of the bottom-feeders in the ACC this season, but I still think NC State has some things working for them entering this afternoon’s matchup. While the Wolfpack have lost 5 straight, 4 of those losses have come to tournament teams. This team plays poor defense, but they actually rank a pretty respectable 63rd in offensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh ranks just 239th in offensive efficiency and shows no urgency to push the pace. Pitt did beat Florida State earlier this week, but the Seminoles shot just 28% from the floor; it’s going to be hard to beat anything with that poor of an output. When the Panthers face a viable offense, they are toast. I like North Carolina State to turn things around and pick up a road conference win today.

*CBB(1u): Vanderbilt +11.5(-110) @ Tennessee–5 PM CT

Tennessee picked up an impressive road win at Mississippi State earlier this week, but this is somewhat of a sandwich spot with Kentucky on the horizon this coming week. Additionally, Vanderbilt is playing pretty solid basketball themselves. The Commodores are coming off 2 straight comfortable home wins against LSU and Missouri and have proven to be competitive on the road in conference play, losing by just 7 at Kentucky and beating Arkansas outright in Bud Walton Arena. Vandy ranks 53rd in defensive efficiency and appear to have figured out some of their offensive issues here recently. Tennessee has good metrics, but this team doesn’t pass the eye test for me, especially on the offensive end of the floor. In what’s not a great spot, I don’t mind going against the Vols here and playing on a sneakily surging Vanderbilt group catching double-digits.

February 12th CBB Premium Plays

*CBB(1u): St Joseph’s/UMASS OVER 152(-110)–11 AM CT

UMASS can score points at will on the offensive end of the floor, entering today’s game ranked 43rd in offensive efficiency and pairing that with a Top 100 pace in the country. However, the Minutemen also have one of the worst defenses in the country, currently ranking 338th in defensive efficiency. Like UMASS, St. Joe’s likes to push the pace on the offensive end of the floor but doesn’t care too much for playing tight defense. This spot(2nd straight home game after a home loss) sets up similarly for UMASS as their January 20th game against Saint Louis; that game saw 176 points. I like this one to shoot over the posted total.

*CBB(1u): Arkansas/Alabama OVER 157.5(-110)–11 AM CT

While this might seem like a square play, each of these teams play EXACTLY how you want if you’re betting Overs. Alabama runs at the 16th fastest pace in the country, while Arkansas runs at the 18th fastest pace. While everybody saw Alabama lay an egg offensively against Kentucky last week, they responded by putting up 97 points against a pretty solid Ole Miss defense on Wednesday. This is still a unit that ranks 11th in offensive efficiency and will give the Razorbacks everything they can handle. With that said, the Crimson Tide defense is reeling at the moment; they rank just 75th in defensive efficiency and just allowed 83 to a bad Ole Miss offense. With that pace, Arkansas can go toe-to-toe with Alabama in this tough environment. Anything below 160 is an Over bettor’s dream just considering how these teams match up.

*CBB(1u): Florida State/North Carolina UNDER 146.5(-110)–1 PM CT

North Carolina appeared to be turning a corner on the defensive end of the floor, but they have not had much success over their past 3 games. However, UNC has still played much better defense at home than they do the on the road. This is a perfect spot for UNC to clean things up on that end of the floor. Things have gone totally south for Florida State, as they enter this game off of a home loss to Pittsburgh, their 5th straight loss. The Seminoles’ roster is depleted with injuries, which has left them with little-to-no threats on the offensive end of the floor. Still, Leonard Hamilton has his guys playing hard on the defensive end of the floor; that unit ranks 62nd in defensive efficiency. Given UNC’s sense of urgency to clean things up defensively and Florida State’s pure inability to score the basketball, this total is far too high.

*CBB(1u): Michigan State -4(-110) vs Indiana–2:30 PM CT

Indiana is exactly who I thought they were, so losing outright at Northwestern was no real surprise to me. Now, the Hoosiers have to travel and play a superior Michigan State team in their second straight road game. Indiana’s problems lay solely on the offensive end of the floor; they have fallen outside of the Top 100 in offensive efficiency. Michigan State is coming off a loss to Wisconsin and are just 2-3 over their past 5 games, but they are clearly the more complete team. This isn’t Tom Izzo’s first rodeo, and in fact, he always gets his team in great form just in time to make a deep run in March. I see Michigan State making a statement today in a great spot. This one could get ugly.

*CBB(1u): Penn State +1(-110) @ Minnesota–7:30 PM CT

There is absolutely no reason Minnesota should be favored in this game. Penn State enters this game off of a 2-point loss at Wisconsin and a mere 1 point loss to Michigan their last time out. The Nittany Lions are a good bounce away from beating some of the better teams in the Big10. Minnesota, on the other hand, is coming off a 13-point loss at Nebraska, who was winless in conference play entering that game. The Golden Gophers have lost their past 5 games, 4 of those coming by double-digits. Penn State’s style of play is not sexy, but this line is absurd. I’ll take the point as insurance.

College Basketball 2/12/22 Saturday Super Plays – Sports Betting

Texas vs Baylor -6 O/U 131.5

You have to appreciate Texas’s big win at home vs Kansas.   These kid stepped up big when they needed to and they will certainly be dancing in March.  In saying that, Baylor came off a funk getting destroyed by Kansas last Saturday and they took vengeance at Kansas State.  Baylor is a covering machine this year as a favorite at 13-9-1 ATS.  They are a good home team shooting as well at 49% and rank 51st at home/road splits on Haslametrics.   Texas is quite the opposite.   They shoot a dismal 43.1% away from home and are 2-5 ATS as an away team.  The Horns also only rank 353rd in away/home splits on Hasla.   This is a let down spot for Texas and Baylor just got healthy.   Baylor is also still reeling from that nasty Kansas loss last weekend.  I also think they might get LJ Cryer back which would really boost this team.  This game is more of a rivalry to Baylor than it is to Texas.  Take the Bears.

Baylor -6 – 2.5 stars

UCLA vs USC +1.5 O/U 136.5

UCLA came into the year as a top ranked team.  They had some hiccups themselves and some injuries but they are mainly back to full health.  USC was a great team last year and they beat their step-brothers both times during the regular season.   This USC team isn’t the same though, and they lost one of the Mobely brothers and their point guard to the NBA and graduation.   USC doesn’t rank in the top 100 in effective FG this year and their best win was against number 38 Washington State.   UCLA beat Arizona once, Villanova and Marquette.   UCLA has had a much harder strength of schedule also facing Gonzaga and Arizona twice.   I think the Bruins are live here on their 4th road game (which is actually close to home).   Take UCLA as the shorty.

UCLA -1.5 – 2 stars

Premiums, 12.12

Hi All!

Utah St. shit the bed but another 2-1 night in the NBA ain’t a bad thing. Onto Saturday!
Disclaimer: You will not be receiving any premium picks from me tomorrow on Super Bowl Sunday. All SB picks are below, and I’ll include my leans for tomorrow’s NBA slate, too. This is one chance for me to get some sort of break, and I’m going to take it! Ha… appreciate your understanding.
NBA Picks, Today:
  • Ja Morant O29 points *
    • This is a great game for Ja to go off. The Hornet won’t be able to stop him at the rim and he basically had an extra game off when Memphis rocked the Pistons a few days ago. I like him to get into the 30s.
  • Pelicans -4 *
    • The Pels showed some things in a loss to the Heat recently. Though they ultimately got bested by a better team, as we predicted, the Spurs are not the Heat. San Antonio is also off a back to back (and a big win last night), so this is another tough road spot for them. New Orleans has a considerably better starting 5 than San Antonio and they play way better at home. I like the Pels to cover in this one; the Spurs bench has to be tired – that’s a good thing for New Orleans.
  • CLE/PHI under 206 *
    • This one will be a BATTLE in the front court and a slow paced game, especially since CLE will be without Darius Garland. Going against the grain here and I think the under hits. I’d take this at 203 and up.
  • Warriors -7 **
    • If the Lakers cover this number, it’s because LeBron does some amazing, GOAT shit in the clutch. These two teams are continually further and further apart in my power ratings and Golden State at home? Good luck LAL, a team that struggles stopping everyone! They won’t be able to stop Golden State if Klay/Steph get going.
NBA Leans, SB Sunday:
  • MIN/IND over …
    • If this number is below 228, I’d take the cover for 1 unit.
CBB Picks:
  • Baylor -6 *
  • Rutgers +8.5 *
  • Seton Hall +9.5 *
  • OSU/Mich under 141 *
  • Gonzaga -15.5 *
UFC 271 Picks:
  • Modafferi/O’Neill does NOT go distance (+140) *
    • O’Neill has serious finishing power, and her last 4 fights haven’t gone the distance.
  • Cannonier/Brunson DOES go the distance (+114) *
    • Two different fighting styles should create some caution in a big fight for both men.
  • Derrick Lewis by TKO/KO stoppage in round 1 (+200)
    • Why the hell not? These two mammouths are open about the fact that they’ll be going right at each other for a knockout. Getting close to Lewis? Not a good idea.
  • UFC Parlay: Perez, O’Neill, Ulberg, Lewis, Adesanya (1 unit to win 3.45) *
SB Picks:
  • 1Q under 9.5 **
  • 1H under 23.5 *
  • Odell over 5.5 catches (+110) ** (this is great value)
  • Bengals +4 *
  • Bengals 3rd QTR ML (+100) **
  • Parlay: Rams ML + under 48.5 ** (2 units to win 3.88 units)
  • Uzomah to score a TD (+400) *
