Reminder from FarleyBets: Jimmy B is Playing

Friendly reminder:

Jimmy Butler is now playing for Miami – I’m still on Toronto, but only 1 unit now at -1.5

*CBB(1u): North Carolina -3.5(-110) @ Louisville–7 PM CT

When North Carolina has struggled this season, it has been against teams with good offenses. Fortunately for them, Louisville ranks 179th in offensive efficiency and goes at a pretty average pace. The Tar Heel offense is coming off a 100-point performance against rival NC State and boasts a top 25 offense in the country. Louisville’s strength is their defense, but even then the Cardinals barely crack the Top 100 in defensive efficiency. The only similar matchup UNC has had in a road conference game this season was when they traveled to Boston College; they won that game 91-65. I have a hard time seeing Louisville be able to keep up on the offensive end of the floor, so I’ll lay the short number with North Carolina.

February 1st Premium Plays

*CBB(1u): Boston College +9(-110) @ Virginia–5 PM CT

Virginia is a shell of their former selves this season, as this Cavaliers team boasts just a 12-9 record. Because of their extremely slow tempo approach and inefficiencies on both ends of the floor, I’m surprised to see them be nearly double-digit favorites. While Boston College is not a great team, they enter this game off a blowout win against Pittsburgh and already have an impressive road conference win at Clemson. I don’t think people realize just how far UVA has fallen off; in a low variance game, I’ll gladly take the full 3 possessions with the ‘dog.

*NBA(1u): Heat +2.5(-110) @ Raptors–6:30 PM CT

I know that betting against the Raptors hasn’t fared well for us lately(including last night), but I feel confident going against them in this spot. These teams played just 3 days ago with Toronto squeaking by with a 3 OT victory. Now, the Raptors come back home after playing an intense game in Atlanta last night and are being asked to win in one of the toughest spots in basketball. Miami played last night as well, but Jimmy Butler and PJ Tucker did not play. I expect each of those guys to return tonight, and we might even see Kyle Lowry return to Miami to face his former team. Miami clearly weren’t taking last night’s game seriously as they looked ahead to tonight, while Raptors starters averaged 38 minutes on the floor last night. I think Miami gets their revenge against a fatigued Raptors bunch in an empty arena tonight.

*CBB(1u): Alabama/Auburn OVER 156.5(-110)–8 PM CT

When these two teams matched up a few weeks ago, the final total was 158. However, neither team shot above 27% from 3-point range, and each had at least 12 turnovers. If either of these teams is able to play a clean game tonight, this should be a no-sweat winner. Alabama boasts the 7th best offense in the country and pairs that with a maniacally fast pace. Auburn has a top 15 offense and matches up with an Alabama defense that is yielding 77 PPG in conference play. Auburn is also top 100 in pace and has no problem speeding this game up. I know this seems high, but we’ve already seen these teams exceed this number when neither played particularly well on the offensive end of the floor. This should get into the 160’s.

*CBB ML Parlay(0.8u): Wichita State, Bulls, Mississippi State(+111)–6 PM CT

Premiums, Feb 1

Happy Feb, people! January treated us well, let’s hope for the same in the weird, cold-ass month of February.

Speaking of weird, NBA betting is extremely difficult right now because of the unpredictable nature of injuries and “rest.” Trae Young was announced “OUT” officially just 30 minutes before tipoff last night. Darius Garland was a late scratch, too. Managing your picks and suffering shitty losses because of the volatile nature of NBA injuries is really frustrating. I’ll try to put notes in here to alert you as much as I can. It’s also really important to practice your own temperance and to lower your investment day-to-day based on what you can handle. Onto Tuesday:
NBA Picks:
  • Raptors -2.5 **
    • I’m anticipating no Jimmy Butler in this game and even if he does play, will he be 100%? The Raptors are feeling themselves and this is a short line for a team that’s REALLY good at home lately. I’m on Toronto, but if Jimmy does play, this is only a 1 unit wager.
  • Bucks 1H -6.5 **
  • Bucks full game -11.5 **
    • This has blowout written all over it. This is a HORRIBLE spot for the Wizards, they’re without Beal, and the Bucks are seeking vengeance at home. The Bucks will be entirely too much for them on offense, especially with the pace they run on their home floor. They’re also one of the best 1st/2nd QTR teams in the NBA – while the Wizards are one of the worst. All in on Milwaukee!
CBB Picks:
  • Alabama/Auburn under 155.5 *
    • Expecting regression in this rematch on offense and a better all-around defensive effort from Auburn.
  • Stanford -5
    • Get-right spot for Stanford against a very beatable Cal team. Stanford should be able to control this game and stay 5-6 points ahead heading into the final minutes (aka foul shot city).
If you ever have any questions, message me here, on Twitter, or on Instagram. I will make myself available from 9am to 5pm every day, but please don’t expect an answer outside of those hours. I gotta shut it down sometimes. All picks are 1-5 stars based on unit size and confidence. 3 star picks are rare, 4-5 star picks are VERY rare. -Chris

NHL Preview & Picks – January 31st, 2022

Didn’t have time for a full breakdown today so just two picks on the night.

PICK #1: EDMONTON OILERS 60 MINUTE LINE (-125)

The Oilers have seemed to have gotten out of their slump rattling off four wins in a row. Evander Kane seems to be fitting in quite well, scoring in his debut for them. They faced Ottawa earlier this season during their 7 game losing streak where they lost 6-4. However, tonight’s a different story, the Senators are the ones struggling and face a red hot Oilers team looking to make a playoff push. As previously mentioned, Ottawa struggled in their last two games and have a ton of injuries. While Edmonton struggles defensively I don’t think the Senators offense is that potent and they should be able to limit their scoring opportunities.

PICK #2: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS 60 MINUTE LINE (-185)

New Jersey struggles to generate offense and average even less goals on the road. They also aren’t great defensively and face a high powered offense tonight. In Toronto’s last 10 games they’re averaging 4.00 Goals For. To make matters worse for New Jersey, Akira Schmid is starting in net for them with a 5.00 GAA. Jack Campbell is starting in net for Toronto who has been one of the best goalies in the NHL. The Maple Leafs should be able to take care of the Devils at home here.

Best of luck, and as always you can find me on Twitter @GatorBetting and Instagram @Gator_Sports_Betting.

NBA Monday Free Play

539/ 540 Warriors at Rockets UN 229.5*

Very difficult to think about taking an under in the highest total of the night, especially with the Rockets 4-1 O/U in their L5 at home, 9-1 O/U in their L10 at the house. 76% of the money is on the over at this point but the line has dropped from its 230.5 open, and I agree with the move. In their L10 overall, the Rockets are 6-4 O/U. But when the Rockets are facing conference teams whose win% is higher than 60%, they are 1-4 O/U so far this season with an average total result of 225.

We all know this Warriors’ defense is better than years past but they still have capable scoring. Against a losing team, the over should be a no brainer. But when we look at the Warriors against all teams with a win% less than 40%, they are 4-8 O/U with an average total lined at 230. Against conference opponents with less than 40 wins% they are 2-6 O/U with an average total result of 222. Add to that, the Warriors are kicking off a 5 game road trip. I like the Warriors to look and get a victory here without having to run the Rockets out of the gym tonight, and worth a one unit play.

My free plays have been on a 0-3 slide but Patreon is still doing well for the month +21.6 units. Get all of my plays there!

Adding a New NBA Play

Play on the Heat TT under 101.5 for 1 unit. With all of Miami’s injuries and with how these two teams play slow, cut-throat defense, I don’t see how the Heat reach 100 points.
