Dark Horse

Heisman Long shots

Deriq King 90/1 .25U
We all know that the Heisman race has a lot of chalk this year and if you are like me, I don’t see no value in laying anything below 20/1 on an award that can be voted on by people. I am also not trying to tie up a decent amount of my bankroll on a bet like this. Last year King was one of most exciting players to watch in college football. In only 11 games he had 2982 yards 50 total TD and only 6 interceptions. He does have a new coach coming into town, but we do know that Dana Holgorsen loves to go fast and score points. If king can pick up this new offense, I think that we are getting great value with him being a Heisman dark horse.

Lets go West

Purdue vs Nevada
Nevada +11 -110 1U
First let’s talk about a Purdue team that returns pretty much no production on offense expect for their great WR Rondale Moore. Now they do return nine players on defense but if we all remember that defense wasn’t good. Next let’s factor in the travel with them going all the way out the Nevada to play at altitude in the hot August Heat where it should be close 100 degrees during kickoff. Nevada was a team that improved down the stretch and won their bowl game. They do return a decent amount of production on both sides of the ball, but they do have to replace their starting QB. I thought that Malik Henry would win the job, but it looks like they would go with Redshirt Freshman Carson Strong. They do have a good back field and a decent offensive line.  The wolfpack also run a unique defense with them running a 3-3-5.  I feel like that line is to high and that the wolfpack should be able to stay within the number at home.

College Football Week 1B Premium Shared

It’s the first week of College football and I really do not love to bet overs unless there are situations that demand it.   FIU was an offensive juggernaut last year averaging 35 points a game and 6.4 yards per play.   They return their quarterback James Morgan and 80% of their production!    Last year’s Panther’s team was not that good on defense though allowing 5.7 yards per play while not being able to stop the run.   Tulane had a tough AAC schedule last year but still managed 5.77 yards per play on offense while giving up 5.6 on defense.   They do return their quarterback Justin McMillin.   The big change for Tulane is that they hired a new offensive coordinator in Will Hall who ran a fast paced offense at West Alabama and West Georgia.  Tulane won 5 of their last 6 games last year and I expect them to put up some points.   I think this game will be close but high scoring.  I gave this out at 57 four weeks ago.   But i like it up to 63
