March 25th Premium CBB Plays

*CBB(1u): St Peter’s/Purdue OVER 133.5(-110)–6:09 PM CT

I was on the Over when Purdue played Texas(easy winner), and I’ll be on it again for the same reason. Purdue has a pair of twin towers down low that St Peter’s simply doesn’t have the height to match up with. Texas was undersized down low, and as a result, Purdue found themselves shooting an unbelievable 46 free throws. St Peter’s ranks an even worse 315th in average height, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the same story in this one. Not only that, but Purdue has one of the most talented guards in the country in Jaden Ivey that has the ability to take over a game at any time. Purdue hasn’t been able to get their supplemental 3-point shooters rolling in this Tournament, yet they still find themselves in the 2nd weekend. I know St Peter’s has good overall defensive metrics, but their size disadvantage creates a serious mismatch and gives Purdue a variety of different ways they can score. With all of that said, St Peter’s has found an offensive groove that I want to keep riding as well. They scored 75 in regulation vs Kentucky, and even though regressed shooting-wise vs Murray State and only hit three 3-pointers, the Peacocks still put up 70 in that game. Purdue is just not good defensively; this will be an easier matchup on that end of the floor for St Peter’s than their Murray State matchup was. Rather than take a crack at the spread in either direction, I think this Over can hit in more ways than one. If Purdue takes advantage of the height disparity to an even greater degree than we’re accounting for, the Over will undoubtedly hit. If St Peter’s keeps this within single digits, I think it comes through being able to trade scores with Purdue. Over is the play here.

CBB(1u): UCLA -2(-110) vs North Carolina–8:39 PM CT

We’re getting veteran HC Mick Cronin and a “pick-em” type spot matching up with a 1st year HC in Hubert Davis. Yes please. UCLA made the final four last year, and despite returning much of their roster, this team hasn’t been getting respect from the betting markets. St Mary’s was the “trendy” play last Saturday, and Cronin’s Bruins simply blew them out of the water. I know UCLA doesn’t play a sexy brand of basketball, but they have a lot of the key attributes I’m looking for. They rank 9th in the country in assist/turnover ratio, don’t allow many second chance points, and have one of the more experienced rosters in the country who have already proven they can win in March. North Carolina had a great first weekend, but they have been inconsistent all season. Credit them for jumping up 25 points on 1 seed Baylor; the Tar Heels offense can get HOT without a doubt. But in that game, we saw Baylor climb all the way back, partly because coach Hubert Davis did not coach his guys well down the stretch. With this game being in an unfamiliar environment and UCLA ranking 12th in defensive efficiency, I don’t think we see the same UNC offense in this one. That sparks trouble given how leaky UNC is on the defensive end of the floor; the Tar Heels can’t win games relying on getting stops. UNC is a “sexy” team, but I’m going with the better HC and proven group of players in the UCLA Bruins tonight.

Rob Vinciletti: Friday Power System Play + SWEET 16 PLAY OF THE YEAR INFO

Loaded Friday Card has the Sweet 16 Play of the Year, an NCAAB Platinum Supreme and a Friday night NBA Hot Side. Thursday card sweeps going 4-0. Comp Play below.

The NBA Comp Play is on Utah at 7:10 eastern. The Jazz will look to bounce back from a beat down in Boston that saw them lose by 28. Now they take to Charlotte who lost here by 15 to a dismal Knicks team. We note that home teams off a home favored loss that allowed 120 or more have failed to cover 11 of 13 vs an opponent off a road dog loss and the total is 225 or higher. Charlotte plays very little defense and are ranked 28th in the league. The Jazz are a top 10 team on offense and defense and have covered 4 of 5 in the series. With Charlotte having failed to cover 10 of 13 at home we will back the Jazz. On Friday we have another big card up as we look to improve on the 4-0 Thursday. The Leads plays are the Sweet 16 Side play of the year and a Platinum Supreme side along with NBA. See us at goldencontender@aol.com or on facebook/twitter to Jump on as we stay hot. For the Comp play. Go with Utah. Rob V- Golden Contender Sports

Full Premiums, 3.25

If the Red Raiders cover, we have a 6-0 night. We’ll take 5-1. That’s the return performance we needed – let’s keep on rollin’ this Friday! I certainly appreciate all of you hanging with me and trusting the process; that’s not easy to do during a week like this. Added one NBA play, a prop, and a parlay. As a reminder, props and parlays are always “play at your own risk.” They’re personal plays for me that I’m sharing, but they never count as official plays. We’ve had tons of prop and parlay wins this year so it makes me wonder where we would be if we DID count them, but alas, this is the world of a pro handicapper. Onto the picks!

NBA Picks:

  • Jazz -4, 1.5 units
    • I like this spot way better for the Jazz and the Hornets’ reign of offensive terror may be over at that last disappointment. The Utah roster is far more experienced and talented than Charlotte’s, and the Jazz don’t want to fall in the playoff rankings – their current 4th spot is pretty ideal. The Jazz defense, if it lives up to its potential, and it usually does when they’re motivated, is far superior to the Hornets. The Jazz were appropriately favored by 12.5 in their first contest and they won by 10. Take the Jazz.
  • Clippers +5.5, 1 unit
    • This is a sleepy sleepy spot for the 76ers, Harden is undoubtedly clubbing in LA and at strip clubs (this is a thing and it’s not a good habit for a pro athlete), so I could see him totally shitting the bed against a LAC unit that’s at home and better than people think. The Clippers admitted they weren’t going to make adjustments against Denver – I wish I knew that prior – but that won’t happen here. The 76ers are not a rival and the Clippers aren’t hiding or holding back. I like the dog in this one.
  • Knicks/Heat under 215.5, 1 unit

    • The Knicks have been playing exceptional defense and they lean on it early and often these days. The Miami Heat, who have faced some turmoil these days, are bound to recover and look more like their normal selves eventually – that’ll start with their defense tonight. Both teams play physically in the paint and few shots will come easily – pride is a part of this too. We’re taking the under.
  • Mavs/T-Wolves over 227.5, 1.5 units
    • This is a revenge spot for the T-Wolves and they’re at home after that let-down loss against the Suns. I think Minnesota comes out highly motivated tonight and sets the pace from the get-go. If they’re setting the pace, this will surely go over.
  • Christian Wood props: The lines aren’t out yet but look for his points and PAR props to go over today. He should completely annihilate the Blazers’ front court.
  • NBA Moneyline Parlay: Jazz + T-Wolves + Heat + Rockets (1 unit to win 5.33 units)
CBB Picks:
  • NC money-line (fuck the +2, let’s just go for it), 1.5 units
  • St. Peters +12.5, 1 unit
If you ever have any questions, message me here, on Twitter, or on Instagram. I will make myself available from 9am to 5pm every day, but please don’t expect an answer outside of those hours. I gotta shut it down sometimes. All picks are 1-5 stars based on unit size and confidence. 3 star picks are rare, 4-5 star picks are VERY rare. All plays listed are TO WIN that amount. In other words, if I say Bucks -3 for 1 unit, we’re betting 1.1 units at -110 or 1.15 units at -115 to win 1 unit.

Always appreciate all of you! -Chris

Giannis OUT

Welp, Giannis is out.
We really can’t catch a damn break this week, but I’m still rollin’ with the Bucks. I pulled out of my -13 bet and I’ll reinvest in -8.5 for 1 unit.
The Bucks are still considerably more talented than the Wizards and their depth needs the experience pre-playoffs without Giannis. This is still an easier game that they’ll want to win, especially with the looming tough schedule ahead. Sticking with Milwaukee.

NBA and CBB Value Plays from FarleyBets: March 24, 2022

Texas Tech's point guard, moving down the court against Notre Dame.

Hi Everyone! It’s that time of year where sports are at their height – March Madness, the NBA playoffs are near, the UFC schedule is regular again; it’s the BEST! Although I do miss football (sad face).. Onto a few free plays for you to attack on the Thursday slate!

Current NBA Record: 245-193 (56%), +71.45 units
Translation: We win, a lot. Click here for my premiums every day in your inbox!

Bucks -8.5 (-110), 1 unit: This is a great “clobber spot” for the Bucks tonight. Milwaukee is only 1.5 games behind Miami for the #1 seed and the Heat are seemingly in disarray right now (Butler vs. Spoelstra, yikes). Kyle Kuzma continues to sit for the Wizards and that’s a big deal – he’s their most physical player and makes a huge difference at both ends of the floor. That should tell you how talented Washington is these days, by the way (it ain’t great). Milwaukee looked just fine without Middleton Wednesday against the Bulls, and if anything they run faster without Giannis’ #2 guy – that’s not a good thing for the slow-paced Wizards, who easily get overwhelmed against explosive offenses. Giannis is now OUT, but the Bucks should still have their way against one of the softest front court defenses in the NBA (Porzingis, ew), and Milwaukee’s depth is a huge issue for a shallow Washington roster. The Bucks’ schedule is about to get much tougher. I don’t think they letdown tonight; I think they smash. Take Milwaukee and swallow the points.

Texas Tech -1 (-110), 1 unit: In postseason play, I tend to rely on great defenses. In basketball, where teams and young athletes are increasingly more focused on offensive efficiency, that gives consistently good defenses a significant advantage. I think that’s what we’ll see tonight, again, from a Red Raiders squad that’s looked amazing thus far in the tournament. Duke has been explosive at times this season, and very mediocre and clumsy at other points. The intense pressure that MUST be on these young players can’t help. Coach K’s final season brings a level of intensity that most college kids don’t handle well (case in point, the final game at Cameron Indoor), and Texas Tech has an aggressive, in-your-face style that the easily shakable Duke roster may struggle with. If that happens early, it’s all rocket-ships for the Red Raiders, who haven’t shown any signs of slowing down on either side of the hardwood. Texas Tech has faced a much harder schedule and they’ve been considerably more consistent. Side with the Red Raiders!

World Cup Qualifying Nightcap!

We are currently on an International break for the clubs and Premier League will resume Saturday, April 2. For now we have some action packed World Cup qualifying with a juicy match-up between North American rivals Mexico and USA. March Madness is a full go today, but why not diversify your betting portfolio with this 10pm ET nightcap!

Current Soccer record: 25-29 +1.35 unit (in the green baby)

Mexico ML 2 UNITS (-110)

Currently in the qualifying standings USA and Mexico are tied with 21 points. Top 2 teams out of each group qualify for the World Cup. With 3 qualifying matches left, points are at a premium and every match absolutely matters. USA has the current tiebreaker with Mexico having beat them straight up last match in November in Ohio. Since 2019 USA is 3-1 against Mexico in international competition.

We now have Mexico favored after USA has shown they are able to take care of them the previous matches in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final and their previous match in Cincinnati with a 2-0 score.   So what gives? Location Location Location! The match is being played in Mexico City, Mexico. We are vary familiar with this stadium from the few NFL games we have watched and know that this is every bit home field advantage on steroids. This altitude is nothing to play with measuring at roughly half a mile higher elevation than Denver. Players, specifically USA ones will be gassed, period. Now let’s combine that with other factors. We have a country and fan base that cares about soccer tenfold compared to Americans interest going absolutely nuts in a stadium packed to the core with a capacity over 87k. Not to mention the weather will not be cold November 40 degree weather in Ohio. It will be 60-70’s where the home team will be more comfortable in their element.

USA will make it interesting down the stretch having to take on Panama and Costa Rica in their final World Cup qualifying matches. Tonight they come up short against Mexico. Unfortunately too many factors for me that give Mexico the significant advantage to take the patriotic side and, “I believe that they will lose. “
