This season is flying by and we are just about a month in. Here are the YTD recap and recent numbers. The last post was on the 24th and I sent out some picks on Twitter as well. As the season settles in and we get more data I am getting more and more comfortable playing up to -200 is some spots, though usually I just adjust the PL to -1 and take less juice. 24th – 5-2, great night. 25th 3-2 Good night. 26th 2-2, ok night but at least we were at .500. 27th 2-1, good night. 28th – None. 29th, 1-2, bad night and 30th 2-4, terrible night. For the season it is 36-30-2 .5454. We are above .500, and have a way to go, but I like where we are.
Chicago Blackhawks @ Vancouver Canucks
The only game on the slate tonight is Chicago at Vancouver. There are reasons to take either team here, and you couldn’t be faulted wither way. Chicago, who is beginning a 3 game Canada road trip, is coming off of two losses in and row, and they definitely want to get things right and not drop a third. Vancouver is coming off an upset win against Minnesota. Chicago hasn’t lost three in a row all season, and there are reasons to believe that they won’t start now. Vancouver has been an underdog all season long… literally. In their 13 games they have not been favored once. They are use to this, they are use to being overlooked and undervalued, so I don’t see a drop off or let down coming off of their win against Minnesota. I am on a bit of an island tonight because as of this writing, 62% of the tickets and 67% of the cash are on Chicago. But the numbers point to the Canucks. Don’t let the dog scare you on this Halloween night. I am taking the Canuckson the money line to get it done tonight. If you were to blindly play on the Canucks all season, you would be +6.65 Units. And as long as I am making money on Vancouver, I will continue to take them. I also took the Over 5.5. GL2ALL and have a safe and Happy Halloween!!!

Tulane and Tulsa are two teams struggling to climb out of the basement of the the AAC. Tulsa isn’t effective holding onto the ball with a -6 turnover rating. Tulane does one thing decent and it is playing the run which is the only thing Tulsa can sometimes figure out how to do. Give me Tulane in a close one.
Texas -3
I know Tom Herman is bad as a favorite lifetime but I dont see alot of value in Oklahoma State. They have struggled mightily this season. Also, Sam Ehlinger upgraded to probable who has been fantastic making good decisions with the ball in his hand.Tom Herman will do a good on keeping the ball away Ok State and I see them winning by a touchdown
Iowa +5 / Under 51
Penn State isn’t good at protecting Trace Mcsorley and that is one thing that Iowa does well is get after the quarterback. Trace when he has pressured hasn’t made the best passes and it shows this season with his completion percentage being down almost 10 Penn State has looked flat since they lost to Ohio State dropping a game against Michigan St and Indiana pretty much shooting themselves in the foot to blow a win last week. Give me Iowa and the points even if Penn State wins it will be by a field goal.
NC State-2
Plain and Simple they are the better team and will get up for this game after a tough loss to Clemson. The Power Ratings I have this being a 6 point game. Give me NC State who is the better defensive team. I think they make one more stop than the Orange and that will be the difference. Eric Dungey has been getting hit all season his health is questionable. I look for Ryan Finely NFL hopeful to bounce back well in this game.
Wisconsin -3.5
I actually like Wisconsin more that Hornibrook is out of this game. Coming into start will be sophmore Jack Coan who is a former 4 star recruit. I do think he may be a better passer than Hornibrook but not given a shot since Alex is a proven leader with a winning track record. Paul Chryst this could be the upgrade your team needs. I think Jack could surprise some people. I have this game almost power rated at 10 huge value on the Badgers. I think this line could drop to -3.
Well, the Rams own all of California and probably the entire NFC, if they can stay healthy they should win the whole thing. We move on and have used some pretty good teams already with the Patriots, Vikings, Rams. However, there are a lot of big spreads on the board from us to choose from. Not all games go as planned, so make sure you are avoiding certain teams.
The Obvious Choices
Broncos vs Chiefs -10
Browns vs Steelers -8
Dolphins vs Texans -8
The Chiefs face the Broncos in what could be a very tough spot for Denver. They have some notable players on the injury report between Shane Ray and Brandon Marshall. The Chiefs are coming off a great win on prime time over the Bengals. Defensively, they played great, limiting Andy Dalton to 148 yards and Joe Mixon to only 50 yards. This Chiefs team can put up points and I don’t think Case Keenum and company are up for the challenge.
Steelers can only have one thing on their mind: revenge after the tie they suffered in Week 1 of the NFL season to the Browns. Big Ben has owned the city of Cleveland with an impressive 12-2 record on the road. I expect the Steelers to dominate. Also, Hue Jackson has taken over the play calling for the Browns which I believe, is a negative. Hue Jackson isn’t a good coach and if he expects to be fired he wants to go out his way. The Steelers are a safe play.
Texans face off against the Dolphins tonight on Prime Time. The Texans have improved recently, winning their last 4 game. However, the Dolphins haven’t played terrible with Brock and can see them keeping this onclose for comfort. Also it’s a short week so not a lot of prep time. I do believe the Texans get it done. Desean Watson is a little banging up and will be contained to the pocked more than he is comfortable with. I do believe the Texans get it done owever, not hedging my survivor pool on it.

The last post was on 10/17/18. Here’s a recap from that night: We went 5-2, WAS PL and U6 were our only losses. Montreal, Calgary, Calgary/Boston O6, Anaheim ML, and Anaheim/NYI U6 all cashed for us. That brings the season total to 21-17-2. The 17 losses include a lot of bad beats. It is what it is and we move on, but it shows that were on the right track.
Florida Panthers @ New York Islanders
Florida is at New York tonight. They were in action last night and dropped their game 2-5 versus the Rangers. The Islanders are at home and their last game was the 20th out at San Jose. That was the last game of a 4 game road trip for them. They are at home for this lone game and then they head back on the road for a 3 game road trip. Both teams are off losses, Florida losing two in a row, the Islanders losing at San Jose. Florida’s record is deceiving, with the exception of last night, all their losses have been by 1 goal. The Islanders, on the other hand, seem to either win big or lose big. They have won/lost 5 games in a row by 2 or more goals. In this spot I look for Florida to bounce back and get the win. They are a few goals or stops here and there from being 5-2 or 6-1, rather than 1-3-3. I also look for there to be a lot of scoring in this match-up. I am taking the Over 6.
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Winnipeg Jets
The Leafs heads to Winnipeg to face off with the Jets. Try as I might, I cannot find an edge in this match-up. The Leafs are 6-3 and the Jets are 6-2-1. The Jets are hot right now and have been scoring practically at will, scoring 4 or more goals in 4 straight games. Toronto scored 4 or more goals for 5 straight before cooling off on their 2 game losing streak, only scoring 1 goal. I look for the Jets to stay hot and for Toronto’s offense to wake up. I will take the Over 6.5 goals. If you’re really feeling it, take the Over 7 goals for +150 (5 Dimes).
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Colorado Avalanche
Tampa Bay heads to Colorado to take on the Avalanche. Tampa Bay is on the 3rd game of a 5 game road trip, currently 1-1. Colorado is returning home off of a 4 game road trip, going 3-1. I think Tampa has the edge in tonight’s match-up. Both team have been playing pretty well to start the season, but I will be taking the road team, Tampa Bay, tonight. I am also taking the Under 6.5 goals. I like the under because 4 of the last 5 Avs games have gone under. And the first two games of the Lightning’s road trip have gone over, so I look for them to tighten up defensively.
Vancouver Canucks @ Las Vegas Knights
The last game of the night on this small slate has the Canucks in Vegas. Vancouver is on a quick 2 game road trip out west to LV and then on to ARI. They have lost 2 of their last 3. LV is on game 3 of a 5 game home stand, where they’ve won the first two. They are on a 3 game win streak, after dropping 4 of their first 5 games to start the season. Las Vegas has started slow, but seem to be heating up. Vancouver has been a dog in every game it has played. If you had just blindly bet Vancouver this season, you’d be up +4.75 Units. There are many reasons to take Vegas here, and I wouldn’t fault anyone who does. I just like this spot for Vancouver and I am taking them. They are off a loss, losing 2 of 3. They will be looking to bounce back here. The O/U is at 5.5, meaning the book makers don’t think there will be a lot of scoring in this one, making goals a premium. I am taking Vancouver +1.5 -130. It’s not often that you can get a goal and a half for only -130. And with goals being a premium, it is a solid wager. Vegas may certainly win here, but I see it as a 2-3 game if they do. I am going to sprinkle a little on the ML as well because the Canucks have proven to be active dogs. I also like the Under 5.5 goals here. GL2ALL!!!
NOTE: At the time of this posting, the sharps are on Florida and Colorado. The cash is on Winnipeg, Florida, Colorado and Vegas.
